Therapy for New Moms in Suffolk County, Long Island, NY
Let's be honest, being a new mom isn't easy
Pregnancy, labor, and birth were supposed to be the hard parts, right? Then it’s just peace, quiet, and cuddling with baby - Wasn’t that WRONG! Adjusting to a new baby is one of the biggest transitions you will have in your lifetime.
Not only is parenthood physically exhausting at times, going on no sleep and trying to nap when baby does isn’t as easy as you expected.
The emotions can feel intense, overwhelming, and confusing.
Many of my clients have felt the pressure to project only the good feelings, and put on a happy face, but if you are experiencing some ambivalence, you are not alone. These feelings are not a reflection of who you are as a person or mother.
Pretending that everything is okay when it really isn't gets exhausting. Hiding your feelings from others in order maintain an illusion that you "have it all together" can cause even deeper feelings of shame, isolation, resentment, and hopelessness.
Seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
It can feel daunting to ask for help from a therapist. At the same time many of my clients have felt an immediate sense of relief taking that first step. You don’t have to expect so much from yourself — especially now.
I provide both in-home or online therapy, because quality and professional counseling should be convenient and accessible. It is my priority and passion to help you receive the support you need to improve your emotional wellness and feel your best. You don't have to experience this alone. I can help you!
